Gold Hill's New Anchor
The other opening residents keep pointing out is at 2150 Gold Hill Road. Maisie's Green Brae opened for soft service on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 2150 Gold Hill Road, running Thursday through Sunday until a grand opening on July 4. July 4 is also Tega Cay's birthday, which the owners took as a sign, and U-Phonik played the backyard stage that day.
The room itself is worth understanding before you show up. The kitchen and floor were opened early so the team could find its rhythm before a backyard full of neighbors on the Fourth, and the operating picture is walk-ins, no waitlist, smoker running, taps poured, stage warm. That is a very particular kind of place, and it slots into a corner of the city that had been underserved for anything other than pizza delivery.
The Steakhouse And The Wine Bar That Isn't Open Yet
Two more names round out the picture. Hoof & Barrel, the City of York staple, has opened a Tega Cay location, bringing its steaks and hometown atmosphere onto the peninsula. And the piece of news most residents have not caught yet: the wives of Model A Brewing are opening the only wine bar in Tega Cay, positioned as a welcoming space to sit back and enjoy a glass.
Read those together. In one calendar year, Tega Cay has added an elevated pizza-and-cocktails room, a scratch-kitchen restaurant with a live-music backyard, a full steakhouse, and a wine bar in progress. The peninsula's dining ceiling has moved.

None of this displaces the summer ritual most residents already keep. The Carolina Show Ski Team performs free weekly water ski shows on Friday evenings from June through mid-August at Windjammer Beach Park in Tega Cay. Parking opens at 5:30 pm, the show starts at 7 pm, and it runs about an hour.

August is the first month where you can plan a Tega Cay-only weekend and not feel like you are asking any of the new kitchens to prove themselves.

The through-line from August into fall is unusually short this year. Ski shows end in mid-August. Music in the Park at Runde is August 8. The city has an October 10 Music in the Park at Catawba Park that essentially picks the season back up two months later, with Catawba Fest slotted between them. If the pattern holds and the weather cooperates, residents will move from summer to fall without the usual dead weeks in September, and they will do it inside the city limits more often than they used to.
The quiet version of this story is that Tega Cay in 2026 is doing what a lot of Charlotte-adjacent towns have tried and failed to do. It is adding restaurants at the pace of the population without losing the ski show, the boat parade, the fish fry, or the birthday cake at Glennon.
